The first cup of coffee just runs down my throat and this is a moment I just need. Last week I was at a doctor and because of some issues he said he wants me to stop drinking coffee…and I just say no. You should have seen his face. And he suggested, “how about decaf coffee?” and I “what’s the point of that”. I need coffee in the moring, period. It’s like eating french fries without mayonnaise and that’s what another doctor tries to tell me….are they real, do they know what “life”-food is???? Anyway, sometimes it’s just better not to listen to doctors….that’s my take on this.
Anyway, I’m listening right now to Kai Wingenfelder’s solo album “Alone”. He is the leadsinger of the Fury in the Slaughterhouse. It’s a great album, my question is only, why he did it, sounds really like Fury. I mean, I thought if you’re in a band and you have different musical ideas, that’s why you do a solo album, to be creative, different, challenging…But look who’s talking, I’m not a musician, just a consumer and a radio dude.
Yesterday I played my feature on the US Coast Guard, you can check that out on the Radio Goethe Magazine part. And please let me know what you think about it. I wanted to portray the Coast Guard as part of homeland security, did a couple of boat rides with them, talked to many Coasties…and than I found a lot of comments by president Bush about the Coast Guard, the result is my sound collage. I’m really curious what you think.
I’m almost off for the airport, a long flight ahead of me. I think I need to work out a bit before, so I can sleep on the plane….but first need to change the music….Kai Wingenfelder, nothing personal, but I prefer some harsher tones while pumping irons
